2. What data is collected?

FlyNils stores all data exclusively on your device. The following data is processed within the app:

• Flight details (airline, route, date, time)
• Child profile (name, date of birth, feeding habits, sleep patterns)
• Equipment information (stroller, car seat)
• Self-researched airline information
• Checklist progress

This data is not transmitted to us or any third party.

3. No servers, no tracking

• We do not operate any server that receives user data.
• We do not use any analytics tools (no Google Analytics, no Firebase Analytics, no Facebook SDK).
• We do not use any advertising SDKs.
• We do not create user profiles.
• We do not use cookies.

3a. Crash reporting (Sentry)

We use Sentry for anonymous crash reporting. In the event of an app crash, technical information (device type, OS version, stack trace) is sent to Sentry. No personal data, flight details, or child profiles are transmitted. Reporting only occurs during actual errors with a reduced sample rate (20%).

4. In-app purchases

When you make an in-app purchase, the transaction is processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We only receive information about whether a purchase was made (via RevenueCat). We do not receive any payment data, names, or email addresses.

5. Push notifications

The app can send local push notifications (e.g., reminders before your flight). These are scheduled and sent exclusively on your device. No data is transmitted to a push server.

6. Children’s data

The app processes data about children (name, date of birth, habits) to personalize the flight plan. This data never leaves your device. We comply with GDPR and COPPA requirements.

7. Data updates (airport/airline data)

The app may periodically download updated airport and airline datasets from our CDN. During this connection, only your IP address is technically transmitted. No personal data is sent.

8. Destination weather data

If you use the weather feature, the app requests weather data for arrival airports from external weather providers:

• iOS primarily via Apple WeatherKit, with fallback to Open-Meteo
• Android via Open-Meteo

During these requests, your IP address is transmitted for technical reasons. No child profile data, checklist contents, or custom notes are sent. Requests contain only required geodata (airport latitude/longitude) and the requested weather time window.

9. Data deletion

Since all data is stored on your device, you can delete it completely at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app data in your device settings.

10. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, and data portability. Since we do not store any personal data, these rights are already fulfilled through local data storage.

11. Changes

We may update this privacy policy. The current version is always available at flynils.app/en/privacy.
