Flying with Baby on Easyjet
Easyjet is one of Europe’s most popular short-haul airlines. With a baby, there are a few things to know.
Lap Infant: Costs and Rules
- Fee: From approx. 27 EUR per leg (varies by route)
- Age: 14 days to under 2 years
- Loop belt: Provided on board
- Max. 1 baby per adult on the lap
Carry-On
- No separate carry-on for the baby — same as other low-cost airlines
- Baby food and medication: Exempt from the 100ml rule
- Diaper bag: Counts as the adult’s personal item
Stroller and Buggy
- Free: 2 items per child (e.g. stroller + car seat) transported free of charge
- Gate-check: Yes, stroller can be taken to the gate
- Return: At baggage claim or gate — depends on airport
- Foldable strollers are prioritized
Easyjet is more generous than Ryanair here: you can bring stroller AND car seat for free.
Seat Selection
- Families with babies cannot book emergency exit rows
- Recommendation: Front rows — faster boarding and deplaning
- Easyjet Plus or front seats worth it with a baby — shorter distances
Easyjet automatically seats families with children under 5 together if no seat reservation is made.
What Easyjet Does NOT Offer
- No bassinet — Easyjet only flies short-haul
- No baby meals — self-catering on board
- No family priority boarding — some airports offer it anyway (e.g. Gatwick)
Car Seats
Approved car seats can be brought if a separate seat is booked. The seat must carry the “For use in aircraft” label.
